About

Who writes this

My name is Dilip Panicker. I have lived in India for the last six decades. Our family travels extensively throughout the country and outside. We have trekked in most parts of the Himalayas. When the children were young, our vacations used to be two to three week treks in the Himalayas. We have covered from Arunachal all the way to the Great Lakes trek in Kashmir and the Markha Valley in Ladakh. We have been to the Siachen base camp and the Bir Billing paragliding heaven. Whether it is diving in Havlock or white water rafting in the Indus, we have been there. Among other things, we walked from Kanyakumari to Srinagar covering a distance of 7,500 km plus, as part of the Walk of Hope in 2015 with the spiritual Guru Sri M.

Why this site exists

This site is a result of many questions from visitors we met over this time. What better way than to document it for posterity. Our Kailas Mansarovar yatra is documented here. We love the outdoors, whether it is wildlife photography or astronomy. Shanti my wife and I now live in a little farmhouse near Bengaluru when we are not out on the road.

Enjoy this Annapurna Circuit trek video with our young boys Ashvin and Nishant. And this Milky Way shot from Dheraphuk in Tibet on the Kailas Mansarovar Yatra.
